We've Got Answers.
Everything you need to know about hours, pricing, the wash cycle, vacuums, fleet accounts, and safety at Santa Cruz's self-service car wash since 2017.
Hours & Location
-
Westside Car Wash is open 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM, every day — weekdays, weekends, and holidays included.
-
We're at 2321 Mission Street, Santa Cruz, CA 95060, on the westside — easy to find and easy to pull into.
-
Wednesdays and Thursdays tend to be quieter all day, especially 6–8 AM, 1–2 PM, and 7–9 PM. Weekends are our busiest stretch, particularly 9 AM–1 PM and 3–7 PM — if your schedule is flexible, aim outside those windows.
Payment & Pricing
-
Westside is pay-as-you-go — you choose the wash cycle and options you want right at the bay, and you're only charged for what you use. Current rates are posted on the payment terminal at each bay, so what you see is what you pay.
-
Every bay accepts cash, credit card, debit card, tap, and swipe — pick whatever's easiest for you.
-
Nope. Since card and tap payment work at every station, there's no need to carry cash or worry about having the right bills and coins on hand.
The Wash Cycle
-
A full cycle moves through Pre-Wash Soak → High-Pressure Soap → (optional) Bubble Brush → Color-Changing Neutralizing Wax → High-Pressure Rinse → Spot-Free Rinse. Each step is designed to build on the last for a deeper, streak-free clean.
-
It applies a concentrated cleaning solution that starts breaking down bug splatter, caked-on mud, and road grime before contact cleaning begins — which helps prevent grit from dragging across your paint and causing swirl marks.
-
It's an optional soft-touch foaming brush pass that adds extra cleaning power for cars with heavier daily wear — commuter cars, work trucks, and the like. It's designed to lift dirt without harsh scrubbing, so it's safe on your finish.
-
Our Color-Changing Neutralizing Wax neutralizes leftover soap residue while laying down a glossy, water-beading protective layer — and it visibly changes color as it rinses, so you can see it actively working.
-
The final Spot-Free Rinse uses soft, treated water specifically to reduce hard water spotting — the mineral marks a normal rinse can leave behind — so your car dries clean and streak-free instead of just wet.
Vacuums & Detailing
-
We run 6 dual-motor vacuum stations with strong suction for deep interior cleaning. Having six spots open at once means you'll rarely be stuck waiting for a station to free up.
-
Yes — our vending machines are stocked with microfiber towels, window cleaner, air fresheners, rags, detailing sprays, and snacks, so you can finish the job without a separate trip to the store.
Membership & Fleet
-
Westside runs on a straightforward pay-per-wash model — no subscription or commitment required. If you're interested in a recurring arrangement, reach out through our Contact page and we're happy to talk through options.
-
Yes — we offer fleet wash services for businesses with multiple vehicles, like work trucks and company cars. Before- or after-hours arrangements may be available depending on your needs. Contact us and we'll respond with available options.
Safety & Facility
-
Yes — the entire property is well-lit and covered by 24-hour video surveillance monitoring every bay and vacuum station, day and night, for a safer visit whenever you stop in.
-
Keeping the bays clean and the equipment running reliably is a core part of how Westside operates — that, plus prompt responses to customer questions, is what we're built around.
-
Westside has been locally owned since 2017 by a longtime Santa Cruz resident who grew up using self-service car washes and wanted to build a cleaner, safer, better-run version for the community.
